Small chips, but big impact – Journal of 28/07

Environmentalists 🌳 in Indonesia are using chips in devices, which listen to the telltale sound of heavy machinery and chainsaws in order to detect illegal logging activities. Further confirmation that chips occupy an increasingly prominent place. The applications are more and more disparate and so we are moving away from the meeting point of supply and demand: the end of the crisis is getting further and further away.

Our comment:

“I think we have yet to reach the moment of maximum difficulty. Then the descent to supply/demand alignment will begin a little at a time, but with this umpteenth application (important not by numbers but by new scope) the timeline to get to a new ”normal” will get even longer. That’s when new strategies in the supply chain become increasingly vital!”
