Here’s the update…even if the news’ already known to many…
GENERAL RESISTANCE SITUATION
YAGEO LEAD TIME AT MOMENT 24 WEEK worsening
Yageo, in its new price list, valid from April 1st, increased of around 50-60% its prices.
We suggest to check the situation of open orders and consider sending everything immediately, without incurring increases or delays in the coming weeks.
We suggest to schedule orders where possible because, beyond delivery, orders are processed according to input priority.
ASJ LEAD TIME 6 to 12 WEEK MAX for standard values
From March prices are expected to rise by 20-30%.
Also, here the suggestions are the same as Yageo.
ASJ produces in Malaysia and, at the moment, they have no problem.
CERAMIC SITUATION
Some values are already in allocation and deliveries are over 40 weeks.
Also, here we suggest to plan as much as possible the orders for the next months, the situation will get worse, both in terms of prices and availability.
ELECTROLYTIC SITUATION
Samwha, for example, is heavily overbooked – they have received an increase in demand and production capacity is saturated – as a result, standard delivery times have risen to 30/40 weeks and obviously cannot anticipate existing orders in any way.
Also, here we suggest planning orders for the near future, as it is always possible to postpone deliveries but not anticipate them.
CONCLUSION
Whether this is a political move of the manufacturers or not, probably taking advantage of “good independent sources” is:
- a great way to avoid production downtime.
- the best way to avoid being tied to the monopoly policies of the manufacturers by becoming aware of another market perspective
Up to you! 😉
